God’s Plan of Salvation

God’s plan of salvation, how can you know Jesus as Lord and Savior?

Recognize the Problem of Sin – The word sin means to miss the mark.  What is the result of sin?  Separation from God. Adam and Eve rebelled against God and partook of the forbidden fruit.  Sin and death entered the world and has plagued humanity ever since.  Every man, woman, boy and girl is born with a spiritual condition called sin.  Romans 3:23, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”  Because of sin there is a great divide between us and God.  We can’t bridge the gap with our good works, religion, philosophy or morality.  The only bridge across that great divide is the Lord Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross at Calvary. This is God’s Plan of Salvation for your life!

Recognize the Path of Salvation – Salvation is in Jesus Christ alone.  You can’t find salvation by just randomly believing in anything.  So many are fooled into thinking it doesn’t really matter where they place their faith.  But it does.  God made one means of salvation.

John 14:6, “Jesus said to him,: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Ephesians 1:7, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace”

Recognize the Power of the Sovereign God – Society is quick to adopt God as loving, merciful and full of grace.  He is all of those things.  But He is also righteous and holy.  God is the perfect judge with the power of judgment and wrath.  He can’t be bribed or fooled by our human efforts.  Matthew 7:21, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”  God is very capable of judgement upon those who have rebelled against Him and rejected His Son.  James 2:13, “For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.”  Everyone has a personal choice between remaining in sin or receiving the Savior.  Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Repent of Personal Sin – The simple word “repent” means to turn or change direction.  The sinner needs to turn from sin and towards the Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Lord Jesus preached repentance. Mark 1:15,“and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

Luke 13:3, “I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

Repenting means an “about face.”  You turn from sin and trust Jesus as Savior.

Run to the Priceless Savior- The sinner who runs to the arms of Jesus will find salvation for their soul.  But how does a person trust Jesus as Savior?

Romans 10:9-10, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Salvation is not by our good works or self-effort, but by grace through faith.  Ephesians 2:8-10, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9  not of works, lest anyone should boast.  10  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” What does faith mean?

Faith means to trust.  Are you ready to trust Jesus Christ alone for your salvation?  God left a void in your life that only Jesus can fill.  You can’t fill that God sized hole in your soul with anyone or anything else in this world.  Everything this world can offer is temporary, but what Jesus Christ offers is eternal!  Perhaps you are an over achiever.  You are all about performance driven acceptance.  Somehow you believe if you just work harder and dedicate the extra effort you will be accepted by God.

But it is the Lord Jesus Christ in His righteousness alone that makes us accepted.

Are you tired of trying to check off all the boxes to be accepted?  The only way to find the acceptance you are longing for is in Jesus, the Beloved Son of God.

Ephesians 1:3-6, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4  just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5  having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6  to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.”

Righteous Promises of the Savior – Self-help books flood bookstores and libraries. Everyone wants to live their best life now. The salvation Jesus offers doesn’t come with the keys to worldly success, but He does offer something far superior spiritually. Jesus Christ offers abundant life- John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” He also promises everlasting life, “John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Finally He promises a eternal home- John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

How can you experience God’s forgiveness, grace and love? How can you enter into abundant, everlasting and eternal life? Simply by repenting of your sins and placing your faith/trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior.  Do you want to enjoy a life-changing relationship with God? Let today be the day of salvation for you, trust Jesus!

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and have missed the mark of your righteousness. I believe You, Lord Jesus are the only begotten Son of God. I believe You died for my sins on the cross and were raised back to life three days later.  I trust in you alone for my salvation. I place my faith in Jesus Christ who died was buried and raised again to life. I turn from my sin in repentance and trust you Jesus as Savior. I surrender my life to you as Lord.  I choose today to deny myself, take up the cross daily and follow you Jesus. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving me. Amen.

Praise the Lord for anyone who makes a decision for Jesus! Luke 15:7,I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”

2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
