Advice For The Upcoming Elections
We are at the beginning of another election season. Candidates will debate, political pundits will argue, the press will take sides and Americans will prepare to cast votes in the upcoming elections.
I am a Christ follower and believe in traditional values. But I am not affiliated. I do believe a return to conservative policies would offer some relief to our country. But government can only offer a temporary band-aid to the problems facing our nation. We can’t afford to wait on Uncle Sam to find his moral compass.
Our government policies seem to change with the direction of the wind. But Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is still the answer for the lost souls of our nation and world. Christians are called to share the Good News regardless of the whims of a drifting culture, who’s currently in office or the outcome of the upcoming elections.
We should definitely participate in the public square and at the voting booth in 2024. But remember the Christian’s citizenship is in heaven. We’re ultimately ambassadors for Christ. We’re not here forever and people need the Lord. He can do more than change someone’s mind. Jesus can change their heart. He can make them a new creation! Keep on keeping on for the Lord!!
We have a world that desperately needs the hope of Christ! The fields are truly white unto the harvest, but the workers are few. Let’s get busy laboring in the fields today. We don’t have time to wait! I’m not sure who will be elected the next president or will represent my state in congress? But I’m sure who’s still the King of glory and is coming soon! His name is Jesus Christ!!”
